Hi, I'm Anthony DeSimone

My mission is to help you and your team communicate using the universal language of numbers.

Far too many businesses fail because they do not have the solid foundation of financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, operation benchmarks and reliable, accurate, timely data.

That's why I created You're the Expert Now (or YEN for short). The word YEN means to have an intense desire. I have the yen to assist small business owners and entrepreneurs with creating this solid foundation. With the help of my 20+ years of experience and financial and operations knowledge, I have created several tools, techniques and processes necessary to build that foundation, giving you - the business owner, 100% confidence that every financial and operating decision you make is an informed one - you become the expert now!

I love small businesses and I love helping people accomplish their goals!  I enjoy the problems that business owners and executives have because I love playing a small role in helping them overcome their obstacles and accomplish more than they ever thought possible.

I am a CPA (certified public accountant) and a CMA (certified managerial accountant) and I have played the role of CFO, COO, President and trusted adviser in many small businesses over my 23 year career.

I began my accounting career at Deloitte and quickly realized that I hated auditing but I loved all those small businesses that I was performing the audit on.  After a few years, I left Deloitte, moving over to a Controller position in a small business and I never looked back!

I have a passion for "cleaning up" small businesses.  The more disorganized and dysfunctional, the better!  I enjoy creating a solid foundation for the business by adding cash flow forecasting, reliable, timely financial reporting, operational process, goals, mentoring and creating effective teams. Throughout the process of building the foundation, I educate the team (the owner and key employees) to understand the tools and techniques I implement to allow for continued success and a timely exit strategy for me.

I am an adjunct professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo and I also teach at the University at Buffalo Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) which is a special class for owners of small businesses and high level executives to overcome business challenges, create new opportunities and develop meaningful connections within the business community.

My Mission and vision

My mission is to help you and your team communicate using numbers.

My vision is to help you help yourself (by being the best that you can be).  It's that simple!

I believe that all of us are wonderful people just the way we are but I also believe that there is a “greater” version of us that can be accessed with the help of setting goals, wanting to learn and having an open and transformational mindset.

In order to be a greater version of yourself, you need to have a yen for change. If you're willing to accept change in your life, if you're willing to grow, then you can accomplish anything (and I mean that).  Typically what's holding you back is YOU!

I've been so successful over the years in helping others, not because of my vast goal setting, financial, operations and mentoring knowledge, but because I actually care enough to help people get connected to what’s most important to them to fuel their actions and transformation.  And the best part is that the changes needed are typically very small adjustments.  All you need is to want to be a student for learning and opening your mind to change.

You are so close to becoming the most effective version of yourself.
